Hi everyone! As promiseed, I’m adding more goodies content to the blog. Yesterday I added the Podcasts I Listen To page. Now, it’s time for a iPhone apps post. I’ve had my beautiful 16GB iPhone for almost two months now, so I’ve downloaded and deleted a fair ammount of apps. Now, I’m down to two screens of apps. I’ve tried several but really, I’m all for having just the ones I actually use, so here’s my list. All the Apps have direct links to the App Store, so iTunes will launch when you click on them:

  • Air Sharing It’s an app that priced at $6.99 it’s worth every dime. It let’s you, via WiFi, mount your iPhone or iPod Touch on your Mac, PC or Linux powered box. You can add from PDFs and JPEGS to iWork and Office docs. The only thing I’ve noticed is that if a file is somehow large it tends to get a bit slow… But the wait really is not that much.
  • BeeJiveIM Is the Perfect IM app for the iPhone. I’ve tried Parlingo before, but the last one requires you to do another user… On BeeJiveIM you can have different status for each IM service (AOL, .Mac, ICQ, MSN, GTalk, Yahoo!, Jabber and MySpace IM). Stable and let’s you see besides the custom status, the user pics. Worth the US$12.99 (that’s priced right now, Halloween Sale, then goes up to US$15.99 I believe).
  • BrightKite Is still on Private Beta by invite only- I still have some so you can post a comment about it and I’ll send the invite your way. So, this free App and site work together to connect people based on the places they visit in the real world. With Brightkite you can see where your friends are, what they’re up to, see what’s going on around you, and meet real-world friends. I’ve had not much luck since I’m in Guatemala and downloaded it after I came back from Orlando, but will try it later on another trip. Worth the shot though, the networking idea seems good and solid.
  • Color Expert is worth every penny. It’s a US$9.99 app that has an interactive color wheel and a swatch library that helps with colors. There’s an amazing set of Pantone Libraries: Solid Coated, Solid Uncoated, Goe Coated, Goe Uncoated, Web Safe Colors and HTML Colors – which is more than enough for me alone. But it also let’s you create on the go color sets that you can later email as ASE files (Adobe Swatch Exchange files) and has a CMYK color conversion amongs other goodies. Check the full Application Description on the iTunes App Store. But if you’re a designer is worth it!
  • Facebook Well, most (if not all of us) have Facebook. This free app makes a very simple and straight up way to check on it while on the road.
  • Flickup Is a US$1.99 app that lets you upload your iPhone pocs to Flickr using the same user interface found on the Camera and Photo apps from the iPhone.
  • Fliq It’s a very cool free app. It let’s you share photos or contacts between iPhones and iPods Touch, always using the same idea as Air Sharing: through a WiFi network. Works good and the Fliq team is working on sharing the same with a Mac or Windows PCs, so it’s an app that looks great. Better grab it now while it’s free – not that they are saying anything about getting it priced, but you never know!
  • Fring It’s an app very much like BeeJiveIM, but you can also add Twitter and Skype to the accounts. Since I already have BeeJiveIM, I only use this great app with Skype, but it works great. It’s free calls… as long as you have Wifi or 3G. For me, it’s WiFi freedom to make calls.
  • Last.fm The iPhone app of the very famous site, that allows you to listen via WiFi, several stations accordingly to your music tastes. Loving the app more every day.
  • iTalk Recorder A free app by Griffin Technology that lets you use your iPhone (both Generations) and Second Generation iPod Touch as a high-quality recording device. It has the basics covered: start and stop recordings, choosing what type of sample rate to use for the recording and a very easy way to manage the recordings on the iPhone. Along that app you’ll have to download iTalk Sync and install it on your computer to transfer the recordings saved as AIFF files via Wifi (as Air Sharng and Fliq do).
  • LinkedIn Also free, this app lets you get a ver easy access to your professional network from your iPhone or iPod touch. I think the app could do more, but this is just version 1.
  • Remote A free Apple app, let’s you control your iTunes library from the iPhone or iPod Touch. I’d expect something more from this app, like the hability to control Keynote, PowerPoint or Acrobat presentations from the iPhone. That’s something to wait for Apple or some clever iPhone App designer to do.
  • Removeem This is US$0.99 cent app is addictive. Everytime I have to wait somewhere I just fireup this app… It’s silly but so much fun! You just have to tap on blocks of two or more balls to make them pop until you leave the screen clear. The bigger the block the more points you get.
  • SpaceMonkey Another game I got for free when they were introducing it. It’s great. This game let’s you control a Space Monkey cleaning the cosmos. It lets you use pretty cool gestures on the iPhone to control it. Worth the US$0.99 for me. Tons of fun.
  • Twiterrific The free version of this app lets you tweet on the road. Has the same look and feel as the desktop version of the app (brown for @replies and blue for direct messages).
  • Units An extremly usefull app for quick units conversion. It’s free and has a wide selection of conversions: Area, Currency, Energy, Temperature, Time, Length, Weight, Speed and Power to metion some.
  • WordPress A very simple app and straightforward, let’s you write and edit posts from the iPhone, with a pretty cool offline support.
So, there you go, all my iPhone apps, that along with the embedded apps from Apple take exactly two screens. What other apps can you recommend?
