At the end of one year and the start of a new one, we often think about new years resolutions. How much you want to change things, take control of your life and really make it your year. So, why don’t you? Personally, I can look at myself and say I can finally get this or that done… unlike years past. Work tends to get in the way (not that it’s a bad thing!) and I keep putting things off until I have “the time to do so”. So, 2011 is time for new beginnings and time for for “doing so!” I want to actually accomplish some of these things and not dream about all the resolutions I wish to become realities.
A few days ago, I got a Flickr mail that my contacts had updated their pictures, including CC Chapman. I went to the Flickr site and checked out this picture from him related to Chris Brogan’s three words at the beginning of every year, and CC does the same excersice. I’ve never met either of them, but what they write really gets to me and CC’s podcast Managing the Gray is one of my all-time favorites. Every time I listen to the episodes I get empowered and really get to thinking about how I can improve myself and my business. So, after reading about the “three words,” I decided to choose my own three words for 2011: SIMPLIFY, IMAGINE and REACH – SIR. Many of us are given the opportunity to get to started from where we left off and others can start from scratch. For me, this year is a brand new, blank book. Allowing me to choose what I want to write and how I want to write it. Making the most of all the moments I am presented with in 2011. First, I will treat every task as an important project. No matter if it is personal or professional. So for me, SIR it is! What are your “three words” for 2011?
